IFRRO’s Rainer Just and WIPO’s Sylvie Forbin signing the Charter of the Publishers Circle
WIPO representatives, IFRRO Board members and staff recently met in Geneva at WIPO headquarters. At the meeting future cooperation activities were discussed along with a review of the outcomes of joint projects conducted in 2018, such as the IFRRO-WIPO cooperation project in Tunisia. At the end of the meeting, future collaboration on capacity building and other projects were agreed.
During the meeting, IFRRO’s President, Mr Rainer Just, and WIPO’s Deputy Director General, Ms Sylvie Forbin, signed the Charter of the Publishers Circle, a WIPO-led initiative to develop a viable, globally connected and efficient national book publishing industry in developing countries. The Charter is based on an expression of interest that authors, publishers and RROs are welcome to join.
IFRRO looks forward to deepening the cooperation with WIPO on activities related to the Publishers Circle, and other areas of common interest.
