Following the resignation of FX Nuttall, the ISNI International Agency elected IFRRO, CEO, Olav Stokkmo as ISNI-IA chair.
Stokkmo was previously ISNI treasurer and IFRRO is one of the founding members of ISNI and has been prominent in the ISNI project since its inception. “I would like to thank FX for getting us off to a great start,” said Stokkmo. “ISNI must now consolidate its position and our first priority will be to appoint Registration Agencies (RAGs) to issue new ISNIs to build on the million, with which the ISNI database was launched.”
Notes for Editors
IFRRO - the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations – is the main international network of collective management organisations and creators’ and publishers’ associations in the text and image spheres. We work to protect and enable easy access to copyright material - from academic works, through newspaper articles, novels and sheet music, to photos and illustrations, in particular for large scale copying of works including digital uses. We are at the heart of rights management across the world, enabling authors and publishers to work jointly to satisfy their clients (libraries, universities, colleges, schools, public administration, etc.). We foster partnerships and dialogues between stakeholders to ensure a flexible service, responding to the varied user needs within the framework of copyright law.
IFRRO is currently made up of 136 members in 75 countries, including members of the majority of EU Member States.
