On 2 February 2017, MEP Therese Comodini Cachia, rapporteur for the proposal for a directive on copyright, and MEP Jean-Marie Cavada, shadow rapporteur, will be hosting a seminar on the Copyright Reform co-organised with the European Writers’ Council (EWC), the Federation of European Publishers (FEP) and the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO). This Seminar will bring together speakers from RROs, authors and publishers associations, National Libraries, as well as representatives of the European Commission and MEPs. Two panels on Access to works in Education and on the Digitisation of out-of-commerce works will offer an opportunity to discover the innovative solutions that have been developed in Europe to respond to dynamic user requirements.

Also, in the morning of the 2nd of February, MEP Therese Comodini Cachia will be hosting a Breakfast meeting at the European Parliament with two Maltese authors and a Maltese publisher who will come to share with MEPs the challenge to write and publish in a small market.
