In December 2020, representatives of Maltese rightsholders and the Ministry of Education signed a framework agreement for the reprographic and digital use of Maltese books in public schools. The signing of the agreement was presided over by Dr. Justyne Caruana, Minister of Education.

On 17 March, IFRRO launched the first of its “Re:start conversations” events, together with our partners EVA, EWC and FEP.

On the 9th of March 2021, more than 100 members of IFRRO participated in an online webinar with Daren Tang.

An EY study, Rebuilding Europe - The cultural and creative economy before and after the COVID-19 crisis, commissioned by GESAC and supported by various organisations in the cultural and creative sector, including IFRRO, was launched on 26 January.

On January 6, IFRRO’s RRO member in South Korea changed their name from Korea Reproduction and Transmission Rights Association (KORRA) to Korea Literature, Academic works and Art Copyright Association (KOLAA).

One of IFRRO’s members in Turkey, YAYBIR, has recently launched an anti-piracy campaign. 

IFRRO today launched a Guide on the Licensing of Out of Commerce Works (OOCW) at a webinar attended by over 60 participants, including representatives from the European Commission, WIPO and the European Union’s Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), as well as IFRRO members. 

On 4 November, over 120 attendees representing 100 member organisations, attended IFRRO’s first ever virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Association ORIGINAL, the RRO from Bosnia and Herzegovina, has made its first distribution of revenues for authors and publishers from the collected funds for 2018-2019.
