As previously reported, the European Parliament is currently reviewing through an own-initiative report the implementation of Directive 2001/29/EC (the “Copyright Directive”). The draft report was prepared by Julia Reda and is currently under discussion at the European Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee, while three other committees have decided to submit an opinion on the report.
Today, Julia Reda has made available on her website the compilation of amendments – 556 in total – that have been tabled by MEPs to the report. These amendments can be downloaded from here. All documents related to the process, including the draft report, draft opinions, and amendments tabled to the draft opinions can be found here.
According to the indicative timeline, the 556 amendments will be considered during the next meeting of the Legal Affairs Committee on 23-24 March, with a vote on the report scheduled for the 16th of April in committee and in May in plenary session.
