Former Congressman Tom Allen To Head Association Of American Publishers

The AAP Board of Directors has chosen Tom Allen, a former six-term Congressman from Maine, to succeed  Pat Schroeder, who has served as President and CEO of the Association of American Publishers since June 1997 and will be leaving AAP on May 1, 2009. The announcement was made in a press release.  

As a Member of Congress, Mr. Allen served on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Budget Committee, Armed Services Committee, and Government Reform Committee. Highly regarded by Congressional colleagues on both sides of the aisle as a thoughtful and effective legislator, Mr. Allen is a former Rhodes Scholar with a law degree from Harvard.
