IFRRO seeks General Counsel and Deputy Secretary General

Our General Counsel is leaving us for a position at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and we are seeking her replacement.

Job Description

Reporting directly to IFRRO’s Chief Executive and Secretary General, the job includes

  • Providing strategic and legal advice to IFRRO’s management, Board of Directors and membership (including on competition issues, corporate governance and risk management)
  • Monitoring copyright legislation world-wide
  • Preparing submissions on draft laws and other consultations from national bodies world-wide and the European Union
  • Liaising with and coordinating IFRRO working groups and committees
  • Representing IFRRO and contributing to IFRRO publications (including delivering speeches at conferences world-wide)
  • Drafting and negotiating agreements
  • Supervising part of the administration of the IFRRO Secretariat

The position includes frequent international travel  


  • English mother-tongue or equivalent, French and / or Spanish an asset
  • Law degree and minimum 2 years work experience, ideally in intellectual property
  • Competition law background or experience
  • Excellent research skills
  • Drafting skills
  • Well organised, team worker, good communication skills
