IFRRO’s Colombian RRO member, CDR (Centro Colombiano de Derechos Reprográficos) announced the signing of an agreement with ASCUN (Asociación Colombiana de Universidades), which represents 88 Colombian universities. The agreement that has been in the works for three years will cover the digital uses of copyrighted materials in the universities part of the ASCUN network.

The COVID-19 pandemic, has reinforced the value of licensing digital uses of copyrighted materials for universities as it required them to take their teaching online. The agreement between CDR and ASCUN is great news for rightsholders in Colombia as it will allow CDR to compensate authors and publishers for the use of their works at this time when their other income is particularly at stake.
