Organisation

Japan Reproduction Rights Center, or JRRC, is a public interest Incorporated Association established in 1991 with the aim of centrally licensing reproduction rights of books, magazines, academic documents, newspapers and other copyrighted works. Federation of Authors’ Organisation, Japan Academic Association for Copyright Clearance and Copyright Council of Newspaper Publishers are the affiliate organisations and they entrust their copyrights to JRRC along with the other individual and group of publishers.

Federation of Authors’ Organizations (arts, photographs, literary works, script and scenario): 14,840 members. Japan Academic Association for Copyright Clearance: 897 members. Copyright Council of Newspaper Publishers: 67 members. Entrustment contracts with Japan Magazine Publishers Association*, Japan Specialized Newspaper Association**, and Japan Publishing Copyright Association Individual management contracts with 64 publishing companies and 3 News agencies. *JMPA consists of 91 publishers, representing a major segment of magazines in the Japanese publication. **The association is composed of 83 member companies, which publish industry-focused newspapers such as construction, transportation, food, agriculture and healthcare.
