Hietaniemenkatu 2 Kopiosto was founded in 1978 due to the rapid spread of photocopying in 1970s. From early 1980s Kopiosto has represented also audiovisual authors and performing artists. Nowadays Kopiosto is a biggest copyright society in Finland.
